What Happened

An older man was crossing South Congress Avenue near the Dittmar Road intersection when he was struck by a vehicle around 2:08 AM. The driver sped off heading south on Congress. APD is looking for the driver. This is Austin's 14th fatal crash of 2026. If you were driving south on Congress between William Cannon and Slaughter around 2 AM, please check your dashcam.
